A writer for a local publication recenty wrote a lament about the lack of a major festival in San Diego with the absence of Street Scene, but seriously, when I take a look at today's listings, I don't really feel like we're missing anything here in San Diego. We've not only got the San Diego Music Thing, but we also have the OB Jazz Fest, Artwalk By the Bay, and the Abstract Festival, with its focus on electronic dance music. Of course, I would encourage everyone to head over to Soda Bar for the showcase I've curated with locals Inspired Flight, the Heavy Guilt and Jesse LaMonaca, as well as the incredible talents of rock duo Strange Vine from Fresno and the amazing Americana tunes of Brett Detar of the Juliana Theory. Whatever suits your fancy, enjoy all that San Diego has to offer today and tonight.
