The last time I saw AWOLNation, they were performing at La Costa Resort. They were being presented as a band to watch at the annual Sunset Sessions. Taking the first performance slot of the night, the band was dealing with sound and technical issues as it nervously performed for music industry people, including radio program directors and film and television music supervisors. Despite those obstacles, AWOLNation obviously impressed because they seemed to have skyrocketed since that night.
Tuesday, the band returns to perform at the House of Blues, and the show has been sold out for at least a month. If I were a ticketholder, however, I would be sure to arrive at the all-ages show early so that I wouldn't miss Imagine Dragons, who consistenly deliver great performances and have certainly also seen their star rise since the first time I saw them play at the Casbah a few years ago with just a couple dozen people in the crowd. If you don't have a ticket, try Glasmus at the Griffin or Mattson 2 over at El Dorado.
