Saturday is a great day for a festival by the ocean. The PB Block Party has been gone for a few years now, but the Pacific Beachfest has taken its place as the clean and family friendly alternative. Instead of blocking off Garnet, the fest is along the water. There's always great food and great music, so make a day of it. When nighttime rolls around, you'll have plenty of options at your fingertips. It feels like a night of resurrections as Rochelle Rochelle perform at the Casbah for the first time in eight years, Dr. Dog returns to San Diego for the first time since 2010, and the Helio Sequence play an all-ages show at the Irenic, and though my friends and I can't seem to agree, in my memory the band hasn't been here since 2008. Tickets are still available for all the shows, so you last-minute deciders can make a show decision on a whim.
