Sounds Like San Diego: October 5

Jesse LaMonaca & the Dime Novels will headline at the Griffin on Saturday

This weekend is chockful of wonderful things to do by day and by night. After you get your fill of the Vinyl Record Swap at the Casbah or the Taste of North Park, or even the afternoon South Park Walkabout, which has lots of music at various locations, you can start planning a night of music. Whether that's heading to Sleep Train Amphitheatre for Kelly Clarkson and Maroon 5 or the Ghostly International Tour at the Casbah, there's a lot of goodness on Saturday. Personally, I'm leaning toward Jesse LaMonaca & the Dime Novels at the Griffin. LaMonaca's going to school and working full-time, so the band hasn't been playing nearly enough around town lately, so this looks like a pretty stellar Saturday night local lineup that should make it a fun night to chill out with friends, have some drinks and hear some great tunes. I will note, however, that the band Knapsack hasn't performed in more than a decade, so on Saturday they will perform a not-so-secret show at the Void under the name Decorate the Spine. If you plan on going, I'd suggest you get there early. Once they reach capacity, you'll have to find a Plan B.
