Here are a few music secrets I'm going to share with you: The first is that there is a Cold War Kids show happening in the East Village. I don't know how I was invited, but I was, and I don't know how strict they're going to be about the guest list, but if you're the kind of person that wants to take your chances in trying to get into a free private show, this is your calling. Dig around the Internet and you will find enough information to get your way in. The other secret is a band called the Rural Alberta Advantage. RAA have been around for years, working their native Canadian circuit. Now the band is on a new label or under new management or something of the sorts, so it's finally coming to San Diego. It's kind of a big deal, only most people won't recognize it as such because there are a thousand other bands who come here regularly like clockwork. RAA is not one of those bands. If you've even remotely heard of them, you want to be at their Soda Bar show on Thursday. If not, there's the awesome and engaged Honeyhoney, which sends out beautiful invites to their friends for all of their show and tour updates, or the whacky MC Chris and MC Lars at the Casbah to tickle your nerd bone.
