It feels like a really long time since we've heard from the Tree Ring, but they've been pretty busy in the studio recording their new record, Brushbloom, which was largely funded by a grant from the San Diego Foundation. This is, of course, after Joel P. West's efforts to write the soundtrack for the film I Am Not a Hipster, among his other endeavors. Saturday's show will be extra special because it will feature appearances by all of the musicians who helped orchestrate the album. The show is at the beautiful Birch North Park Theatre and also features Camarada and the Shivers. Around town, Matthew Dear performs at the Casbah, Lights perform at Soma, and Lost in the Trees are at Soda Bar.
