Saturday is the day for pre-Halloween revelers to let it all out -- in fact, the final weekend before Halloween seems to rival New Year's Eve, St. Patrick's Day and Fourth of July in just how busy the nights will be. Along with school carnivals and fall festivals and special events, there will be parties and masquerades and sexy-everything costumes everywhere you turn. I've never been much for dressing up, so I'm grateful that the music scene is "no-costumes required." There's an incredibly exciting show tonight at Bar Pink featuring Swamp Dogg with a special opening set by Guitar Shorty. Up at Porter's Pub, Emilie Autumn perfoms her "Victoriandustrial" stylings, while Plateaus celebrate a record release at Soda Bar. Another album release of note is Earthless, who, despite being a San Diego band, hardly ever play in town, so if long psych-rock compositions are your thing, head down to the Casbah.
