There are some great shows in San Diego tonight, but in my locally loyal heart, the Casbah will be the only place to be. The 2011 San Diego Music Award-winning Blackout Party spent months recording a live record at Lost Ark Recording Studios, and Closed Mouth Don't Get Fed is finally ready to be unleashed to the world. If I had to make a guess, I would say it could secure another nomination for the guys in 2012, though I think they'll take the rock category with the tunes on this new one. They'll be joined by Grand Tarantula, Jesse LaMonaca and the Dime Novels -- who also recently finished recording at Lost Ark -- and Trailduster, a project of Banjo Matt of the Long and Short of It and Bartender's Bible. There'll be a lot of whiskey consumed tonight, so call a cab and celebrate an epic Friday at the Casbah
