If you happen to subscribe to HBO, no doubt you've seen the excellent series How to Make It in America. The opening montage catches you right away with that song: "I need a dolla, dolla, a dolla is what I need." Those smooth-as-silk vocals come from the amazing talent of Aloe Blacc. Last year, he performed at the Casbah and then again at the Belly Up, so to be back at the Casbah should make for another wonderfully intimate show. This one will likely sell out, though, so make sure you get online to get tickets. Believe me, his originals are fantastic and his Michael Jackson cover is so unique, you might not even recognize it as an MJ song. Don't miss this one.
