It's been four years since the last time the Long and Short of It released new material. Not that Ben Johnson hasn't been busy. He manages the Casbah, became a new dad, released his first novel of a trilogy and still performs as Grammatical B all over town. But fans have missed the Burl, and thus the name of their new album, which is being unleashed to the world at a release show on Saturday at Soda Bar. On the opposite end up the spectrum, head up to the Poway Center for the Performing Arts for Berkley Hart Selis Twang, who just came off a European tour with their 1970s California-country inspired tunes and had such a good time, they decided to bring it home to San Diego.
