El Ten Eleven headline the Music Box on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Yesterday, I came across an internet meme that listed out how many days were left until Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and the presidential inauguration, and it just felt like way too much. The passing of time is unstoppable, but I'd rather just look at it all one day at a time and enjoy the life, culture and music that is available every day. That said, there are some big things going on this weekend, including Vinyl Junkies Record Swap, CRSSD Festival, some Oktoberfests, Pacific Beachfest and more. So, no matter where you go or what you're doing, allow yourself extra time for travel and parking because it's going to be hectic. By nightfall, you've got some legit music options, like Okkervil River at the Belly Up or post-rockers El Ten Eleven at Music Box. Phantogram is sold out at Observatory, but Moosh & Twist are at Casbah, Steve Gunn is at Soda Bar and TwitchCon has a massive show at Petco Park with Steve Aoki and T-Pain. That's a big Saturday. Why are people talking about Christmas already?
