Rockers O.A.R. talk about tour, SD ties, upcoming Anthology show before their recent Fluxx appearance. (Published Tuesday, Sep 6, 2011)

I love that people in San Diego are putting their heads together for new local events. RIght now, it seems the micro-festival is king, and today is proof as radio station KPRI teams up with Anthology to bring StreetBeat, an afternoon block party. The ticketed event brings Gomez back to San Diego for the first time in nearly two years; O.A.R. who are riding high with their current single "Heaven"; crossover artist Ximena Sariñana from Mexico City, who released her first English album earlier this year. They'll all be joined by the San Diego favorites of the Silent Comedy, who will certainly convert the crowd into new rock &roll believers.

    Saturday, Oct. 1:

    • KPRI and Anthology present StreetBeat, featuring Gomez, O.A.R., Ximena Sariñana, the Silent Comedy @ Anthology Block Party (India between A & Ash streets, doors at 2 p.m.)
