Sounds Like San Diego: Nov. 8

I love when it comes time to write and I look through the listings and can be torn in different directions by all the great shows. Kicking things down the line, Big Bad Buffalo are playing at Lestat's, and since it was Jordan Krimston's 17th birthday on Friday, we thought the kid needed some extra attention. They're definitely one of the most talented and hard-working bands in the local scene right now, and their skills will blow you away. Meanwhile, at the Irenic, We Were Promised Jetpacks return to town. This show is almost sold out, and you have to get there early for the beautiful melancholy music of the Twilight Sad. Rising on the indie scene, Saint Pepsi play San Diego for the first time at Soda Bar, while veterans to the indie, alternative and adult-alternative scene Toad the Wet Sprocket perform at the Belly Up. Finally, if you were around in the early '90s, you know that Truman's Water had a huge part in defining the San Diego sound that deemed us "the next Seattle". They've dusted off their gear for a special show at the Casbah. So much good stuff to take in, further reason why this is the best place to live.
