Like most people at 22, Trevor Powers is just trying to navigate life. College, relationships, and heartbreak are all typical, but he's put a lifetime of anxiety into is project Youth Lagoon and the result is the haunting indie-fuzz of The Year of Hibernation. Performing tonight at the Casbah with Young Magic and Range Rover, you'll either totally relate or be old enough to give the kid a hug and tell him everything will be okay. If that's a bit too melodramatic, locals Archery For The Blind headline a cool lineup over at Eleven, you can catch Pink Mountaintops over at Soda Bar, or you might head to Solana Beach for Pretty Too Bad headlining the Belly Up.
