Did you think that the holiday weekend would slow things down in San Diego? Not a chance. While the Dixieland Jazz Festival is in full swing all day and night at the Town & Country Hotel, you can expect a sold-out crowd tonight at the Casbah for Lucero and Drag the River, and tickets are going fast for both of Steve Poltz's shows at Anthology. He's been on the road for a long spell and travelled all over the world to perform, so expect as much between-song storytelling as actual song performances. There's also a leftovers potluck at the Tower Bar with Vena Cava, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe and Orgone at the Belly Up, and a hard core Black Box show at Tin Can.
