Thanksgiving week is probably my favorite time of the year. Christmas and New Year's are great, but this holiday just feels a little more universal. It guarantees a long weekend and it seems to be the most traveled holiday of the year, so it is always great to see family and old friends return home to hang out for a few days of utter laziness. If you have friends coming to town, perhaps a couple days early, you're going to want to take them out, so why not catch a show? On Tuesday, the Faint return to San Diego to play Danse Macabre, their record released in 2001 to high critical and fan praise. The Saddle Creek band always puts on an amazing live performance. Alternately, Tamaryn return to San Diego at the Casbah with indie cool kids Young Prisms and Cathedral X. If those still don't tickle your fancy, Ex-Friends are no more but Matt Curreri has reassembled a band is starting to perform live again, so check him out at Tin Can.
