Will tonight's House of Blues crowd keep the noise under control for the beautiful hushed vocals of Joshua Radin?
Yesterday I told you about Good Old War and tonight is your second opportunity to see them this week, when they open for singer/songwriter Joshua Radin at House of Blues. His name might not be immediately recognizable, because if you've heard his music, it was more likely to be on a movie soundtrack or dramatic TV show than on the radio, though a couple of his tunes have gotten some radio spins. My personal favorite is called "Star Mile" and was featured in the film The Last Kiss a few years back. Radin sings in a very-hushed near whisper almost always, so hopefully the House of Blues crowd can keep its chatting under control.
If you're looking for something a little more lively, Pomegranates will take over the Casbah -- their music has been compared with Modest Mouse, Deerhunter, MGMT and Flaming Lips by SPIN Magazine -- along with indie darlings Oh No Oh My. For you mainstreamers, catch dance phenom Usher over at the Valley View Casino Center. Lots of choices for a Wednesday night. Be sure to friend us on Foursquare to see where our adventures take us.
