It's hard to focus on one show this Friday when there are so many great choices from which to choose. You might think about heading up to UCSD to catch Andrew Jackson Jihad as they perform at the Che Cafe, joined by Future of the Left. In Bankers Hill, River City lead a lineup of Americana goodness, while Deadly Birds strut their stuff at Gallagher's. You can probably find me bouncing between the Casbah to catch Generationals and one of L.A.'s best up-and-comers, Races, and the Griffin, where the Watson Twins bring their sweet shoobie-doobie music along with John Meeks & Joanie Mendenhall, who released one of the best Americana EPs of the last year. So many choices, so little time...
