I know that, around here, I tend to focus on the indie rock side of the music spectrum. But you have to give it up to our city for offering a pretty diverse array of options on a regular basis. Tonight the Belly Up hosts singer/songwriter Devendra Banhart, who doesn't make it to San Diego very often, which is no doubt why the show is sold out. The Casbah hosts internet hip-hop phenoms Turquoise Jeep only a few months after their last time here, while the Soda Bar hosts the sultry voice of Nena Anderson. San Diego Surf Festival hosts a few shows at the Griffin throughout the week, and Lestat's has some solid singer/songwriters. Yeah, there's certainly some diversity in this town -- you just have to want to find it.
