I know it's Cinco de Mayo, but come on, we live in San Diego, where you never need an excuse to drink cheap Mexican beer and chow down some solid tacos or burritos. Instead, enjoy the awesome music that abounds when Portugal. The Man return to San Diego with a show at 4th & B, presented by one of our favorite promoters, Bring on the Bright Lights. With the Lonely Forest and Hyena opening, this is definitely a not-to-miss show. Then again, Transfer are playing at the Casbah with the Howls and Black Hondo, and that is going to be pretty awesome as well. Around town, James Morrisson, who is blowing away crowds across the pond, performs at Humphreys, face melters Sleep Lady perform at Eleven, and the Widows make an appearance at the Tower Bar. Saturday is a great night for music, and all of the venues will be offering tequila and beer to make you feel like you got your Cinco de Mayo's worth.
