Paint the Town Blood Red

Blood Red Shoes headline a stellar bill at the Casbah tonight

Memorial Day is, first and foremost, a time for remembering those who've lost their lives in service to our country -- but it's also traditionally a day for being among friends and family and enjoying the incredible privileges that have been hard-fought for us. So in that spirit, enjoy the day and then get going right into night with some amazing live music. The Casbah hosts Blood Red Shoes, an alt-rock duo from Britain. With four albums under their belt, they should have plenty of material, new and old, to share with the Anti-Monday Leaguers. Meanwhile, Tower Bar hosts a rocking lineup, Tori Roze gets "soultry" at Bar Pink, and Josh Damigo does his thing at House of Blues. Of all the choices, I'm most excited about Jamestown Revival, a duo originally from Austin who sound exactly how you'd expect them to with a name like that. Old-timey and country and stompy and fun, the band was recently at the Belly Up and I missed them, so it's been at least three years and I can't wait to catch them tonight at Soda Bar.
