Unless you are an indie rock elitist and one of those people who really knows their stuff, you have probably never heard of Baby Alpaca. That's OK -- to be honest, I hadn't, either, until a friend of mine from New York told me to check them out. They won't even have any music available (besides what you can hear through their website) until June 25. There's this dreamy element to the music -- it's a little bit fuzzy with a voice in the vein of the Smiths. Who knows how the show will go? Could be a disappointment but at least you know Okapi Sun and Church Hustlers will be great, or it could be amazing and they get famous and you can say you saw them at the Casbah way back when. Indie cred. Sometimes, you just have to take a chance.
