I have been nothing but impressed by the number of sold-out shows this week. Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Crystal Castles, the Greenhornes and, today, Sun God Festival at UCSD and Pinback are already sold out, and I heard that TV on the Radio is sold out, too. That means you need to get your act together and pre-purchase tickets for tonight's Low Volts CD release show at the Casbah because it is close to selling out as well. As Low Volts, Tim Lowman performs as a one-man band, stomping a bass drum peppered with tambourines as he rips garage-y blues on slide while singing about "Granny's Gold Teeth" or an alcoholic bat, mixing in songs that cut a little deeper. If it does sell out, you've got some good options still, with Kathryn Calder of the New Pornographers over at Tin Can, Robin Roth's Pussy Galore over at Whistle Stop and the Burning of Rome at Soda Bar. There's no shortage of great music tonight.
