El Vez Has Entered the Building

There are some seriously great shows on Saturday, including Bad Religion at Soma, Blackout Party at Soda Bar, and Darwin Deez at the Casbah, but I want to draw your attention to some matinee shows that might be of interest as well. Kicking off at 3 p.m. at the Casbah, El Vez returns with his slightly political and Chicano flair on Elvis tunes. The Schitzophonics are not only opening the show, they're performing as his backing band on this show and for his tour that will see them traverse the country, including performances at South By Southwest. This is certain to be a good time, rain or shine. Meanwhile, in City Heights, our favorite cheeky rapper, Grammatical B, performs a free show at Tower Bar with Orgasmatron. This should be a good one; sometimes they even throw in a free BBQ, so you might want to check it out.
