There are certain milestones in a band's career that reflect the hard work it has put in and the talent it possesses. For instance, a band or group of bands can be so proud the first time they sell out the Casbah, and then again when they've built up enough of an audience to sell out the Belly Up. Sure, the show Thursday night at the Belly Up is going to be amazing and it's true that Dead Feather Moon and the Howls both have large followings of their own, especially in North County, but I would still like to tip my hat to the Silent Comedy, who have come so far since that first time I saw them at the Beauty Bar. The show is sold out, so if you missed your chance at tickets, do yourself a favor and head to the Casbah for the CityBeat Local Music Issue party. You just might find the band that will be our next Silent Comedy.
