Growing up in San Diego, there are certain people in the music world who you can't ignore. Java Joe is one of those guys, and when you think about the places he's owned and the musicians who have made an impact under his watch, it was hard to see him shutter his businesses. After the second Java Joe's closed in OB, watchers wondered where the next spot would be. His stint at Cafe Libertalia was relatively short-lived, and who knows what will happen at his current space at the Ideal Hotel, but one thing is for sure, Joe knows talent and has some mighty friends who will still come and fill his musical lineups. Tonight, catch Jason Mraz's right-hand man, Bushwalla, as he takes over the downtown space.
