When I spent the weekend at Sunset Session in February, we were told that we scored an interview with John Waite. And then I asked, "Who is John Waite?" While the name didn't ring a bell, his studio session instantly brought back memories as he sang "Missing You" to a small group of us fortunate to be in the room. Waite collaborated with Matchbox Twenty's Kyle Cook on a new album and is touring on the record. Acoustically, the performance was incredible, but later, with the full band, Waite proved he can still make hearts beat and bodies shake. Tonight the band returns to San Diego; they're playing at Ramona Mainstage, so it's a bit of a drive, but I promise it will be worth the drive to catch the return of a legend.
