Sounds Like San Diego: March 24

Tweedy soars at Balboa Theatre on Tuesday, with Immortal Technique hitting the Observatory

There are a lot of great shows Tuesday night. I mean, I remember being at the Airborne Toxic Event's first San Diego show in the Delta Room of the House of Blues. There was someone climbing on the amps and a small but riveted crowd packed into the room. Obviously the band has been all over the world on many sized stages, so to catch them back at the House of Blues -- albeit in the main hall -- is going to be pretty special. And then at the Observatory North Park, you can catch legendary rappers Talib Kweli and Immortal Technique spitting ryhmes and dropping mad knowledge to a new generation of fans. But of course, the show I'm so excited about is Tweedy at the Balboa Theatre. Dustin already did a great job enlightening us on this show, but I can say that after years of being a fan and catching Wilco or Jeff Tweedy solo over the years, I cannot wait to see what family bonding brings to this show. I feel like everyone I've ever met in the music scene is going to be at this show, and I'm so excited for all of it.
