Sounds Like San Diego: March 16

Esperanza Spalding's brings her latest project through Music Box Wendesday

Despite just about every indie-rock band in the country hanging out in Austin this week, there is no shortage of shows this hump day to keep you entertained right here in San Diego. At the Music Box, Esperanza Spalding -- who some regard as a music prodigy upon becoming a professor at Berklee at the young age of 20 -- shows up with her latest project, Emily's D+Evolution. Meanwhile, Electric Six return to rock out at the Casbah, The String Cheese Incident return for their second night at the Observatory, and Intronaut bring metal to Brick by Brick. For local music lovers, head to the Belly Up to raise money for longtime San Diego musician Candye Kane, who has been battling cancer for many years and could always use the support of fellow San Diegans.
