Sounds Like San Diego: March 11

It's Anti-Monday, and while many of our local friends prepare for journeys to Austin for South by Southwest, we are here with some pretty great music to enjoy. Returning after a nearly half-decade hiatus, the Hush Sound out of Illinois will headline the Casbah. Meanwhile in City Heights, Bend Sinister headline at Soda Bar while Monarchies perform at Tower Bar. If you haven't been to Tin Can lately, you should really check out what they've developed over the past few months. They call it the Tin Can Country Club and all your boot-wearing, whiskey-swilling local musicians hang out, jam and listen to the tunes of a featured artist. This week, that artist happens to be John Meeks who is one of our favorites, so perhaps it's time to break out the 501's and dust off the boots for a little whiskey swilling of our own. Maybe you should, too.
