Sounds Like San Diego: June 6

There are a lot of wonderful ways to explore our fascinating and culturally diverse city on Saturday. The San Diego Greek Festival is in full effect at the St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church on Park Boulevard, while the Phillipine American Celebration takes over the Spreckels Organ Pavilion and other areas of Balboa Park. Of course, if traditional music isn't you're thing, Art Around Adams offers up tons of local music in various venues between Kensington and University Heights, and the Casbah hosts another Vinyl Junkies Record Swap, where Casbah owner Tim Mays will even take his turn on the turntables. By nightfall, Unwritten Law return to the House of Blues, pschedelia-drenched rockers London Souls appear at Winston's in OB, Octagrape blister the Hideout, and Barb Wire Dolls get in your face at Soda Bar. I'm happy to see Patrick Watson returning to the Casbah, and it is a special treat that Villagers are opening this show. There aren't a lot of tickets remaining, however, so grab them online or get to the show early to secure your spot.
