It's going to be a sizzling weekend, so nothing will feel better than air conditioning and a cold beer as you get your groove on to AM and Shawn Lee at the Griffin. Celebrating the release of their second album, Le Musique Numerique, they've artfully crafted an album that blends the sounds of disco, funk and soul, one-upping comparisons to Daft Punk by creating their sounds with live instruments and vocals. After catching AM and Shawn Lee at South By Southwest a couple years back, and then again when they toured with Thievery Corporation, I can tell you that this is a show not to be missed. Be sure to get there early to catch Nicky Venus, the new project of Republic of Letters' drummer, Nick Venti.
