Street fairs and concerts abound this weekend, and there's no reason why you shouldn't catch some local goodness while you're out and about. The annual OB Street Fair and Chili Cookoff is Saturday -- plan on arriving early and staying late to grab parking and enjoy the feast of bands lined up at five different spots throughout the day. If you're in North County, you've got Summer Fun on the 101 to absorb some rays and music. By night, March Violets appear at Soda Bar, Mursic and Takahashi melt faces at the Casbah, and Teenage Exorcists and Grand Tarantula appear at the Ken Club for some out-of-your-way fun. Tower Bar has a double-header, and Bar Pink hosts Javier Escovedo and the New Kinetics, proving that everywhere you look, fine local music abounds.
