As the singer of Tijuana No!, musician Ceci Bastida spent her formative years growing up and performing in her native Tijuana. Now a resident of Los Angeles, the solo performer is still close to her roots, and her music is a reflection of her upbringing, often tackling social and political issues in her lyrics. Tuesday is is the release date of her album, La Edad de Violencia, so you'll probably see plenty of friends and family of the artist from both sides of the border at her performance Tuesday at the Casbah, with art and musical support by various friends from the Roots Factory. Meanwhile, around San Diego, Metalachi appear at the San Diego County Fair, Tweak Bird get all psych at Soda Bar, and singer/songwriter Jackie Green performs at the Belly Up.
