Sounds Like San Diego: June 25

Ocean Beach is a funny community. It's definitely a world unto its own -- if you have friends there, it's often a challenge to get them to leave their neighborhood, but during the OB Street Fair and Chili Cookup, the area opens up, and thousands descend upon the area for live music, great food and interesting vendors and artists. Today you can catch great bands like the Heavy Guilt and Jet West at the main stage, or pop into any number of venues like Winston's to catch the Styletones and others. If the fear of parking keeps you away, it is also a great day to hit the Broadway Pier for the San Diego Spirit Festival. As night falls, you can catch some great shows around town, including a great benefit show at the Soda Bar for a friend of the San Diego music scene who has been battling cancer for three years. Charlie lost his leg to the disease but continues to fight as his medical bills continue to add up. All proceeds at the door will go directly to him, though he doesn't know that his friends are doing this for him. Sorry to ruin the surprise, but I thought you should know so you can support the cause.
