SDSU's Open Air Theatre is in for a treat tonight when Michael Franti (pictured) & Spearhead, SOJA and more take the stage.
Just because the weekend is ending doesn't mean the music slows down. SDSU's Open Air Theatre will certainly be packed as Michael Franti & Spearhead headlines with Brett Dennen, SOJA (read our interview here) and others supporting. Belly Up sold out fast for the return of the incredible Milk Carton Kids who will be performing an intimate show to a seated audience. The North Park Theatre will be boisterous with the sounds of San Diego Taiko's Japanese Drumming and Lee Bains performs at Soda Bar with local red-hot buzz band Oh, Spirit. My money's on the Casbah however, where the sultry music of Federico Aubele makes for the perfect date night. His performances alternate between his electronic production and his incredible guitar skills, so whether he's behind a table or strapping on a guitar, you can be sure that you'll be swaying to the music.
