Sufjan Stevens and others compete for your ear on Tuesday

    NEWSLETTERS

Sufjan Stevens comes to San Diego on Tuesday.

Talk about an incredible night of music in San Diego! Tuesdsay is one of those nights where you wish you could be three places at the same time. At the Observatory North Park, Spoon plays their second of two nights -- and while they released some more tickets, you should grab yours early if you have any intent to see the band. Meanwhile, the Casbah is sold out for the beloved Aussie Courtney Barnett. I had the pleasure of interviewing Courtney last year before her first San Diego show, and she has to be one of the coolest people in music, with pretty much her entire world tour selling out. If you didn't jump early, however, you're going to have to sit this one out because it has been sold out for months. Lastly, another contender for album of the year is Sufjan Stevens. The singer-songwriter hasn't performed in San Diego in several years, so this is going to be a very special show at Symphony Hall. Of course, there are other shows on Tuesday worth your ear, including the New Assembly at Soda Bar, Sundrow Electric at the Merrow, and a sold-out show with Todd Rundgren at Belly Up.
