Sounds Like San Diego: June 17

Behind his latest record, "Complicated Game," McMurtry plays Belly Up on Wednesday

If you're looking for live music to get through the midweek hump, there are plenty of options Wednesday night. At the House of Blues, the Original Wailers are joined by Natural Vibrations for a night of reggae. Meanwhile, Austin's psych-dub trio Holiday Mountain bring their pageantry and musical prowess to Soda Bar. Amerikan Bear headline an all-local lineup at Casbah, while Nile and the Delta do the same at the Hideout. One true standout for the night is singer-songwriter James McMurtry at Belly Up. Recording music since 1989, his 2015 record, "Complicated Game," is his highest charting ever, reaching the 102 spot on Billboard and No. 9 on the indie charts.
