Sounds Like San Diego: June 11

One of the greatest touring singer/songwriters returns to San Diego

I am a little bitter. I love going to X-Fest and I love going to FM 949's SPF, and it boggles the mind that the two stations -- who obviously have a huge overlapping audience -- still decide to book their big summer shows on the same day. Both have stellar lineups, but they're spread so far across the county that you've got to pick one or the other, and I'm not here to make that choice for you. What I will tell you is that if you're not hitting a festival tonight, one of the greatest touring singer/songwriters around is returning to San Diego with an early show at Soda Bar. I hear Joshua James will be on by 6:45 p.m., which theoretically means you could still catch Phoenix down the hill at Qualcomm, head to the Casbah for the fun of Builders & the Butchers or see Corinne Bailey Rae at Music Box. You can deal with Monday when it comes.
