Sounds Like San Diego: June 11

Mutual Benefit is just one of many great shows around town

I have a love-hate relationship with days like today. It's the weekend, which is certainly awesome, but everything is just a bit more crowded. That's great if you're a band hoping for bodies at your show, but don't expect any peace and quiet. There are also way too many options that make you feel increased FOMO when choosing one event over another. Luckily, you can probably check out more than one thing, like the Vinyl Junkies Record Swap and Far Out Summer at Quartyard, for example. Or, you could hit the San Diego County Fair before a night with South Africa's the Parlotones at Bar Pink, legendary act the Sadies at the Hideout, Toronto's Pup at Soda Bar, or folk-poppers Mutual Benefit at the Casbah. There are a lot of great choices as summer approaches, but just know that wherever you go, there you are, and that should be just fine.
