The Filthy Violets
The local San Diegans in tthe Filthy Violets are alternative rockers who came together while playing at a Sunday morning service at an Escondido church.
I'm not gonna lie...this week is all about Comic-Con in San Diego, so the early part of the week holds just a few options if you're looking to see live music. But that doesn't mean that the choices aren't worthy.
As always, Tim Pyles will be hosting Anti-Monday League at the Casbah with three worthy local bands. If you haven't had the chance to see these acts, I promise that they'll get you shaking your booty with some great tunes. Over at Soda Bar, the music is a bit grimy and I mean that in a good way -- the bands will please you with their dirty guitars and frenetic punchy songs.
It is also rare that I'll suggest a Battle of the Bands, but I had the chance to see Audio Addiction over the weekend when they opened for Unwritten Law, and vocalist Brian Sheerin (of Mower and Slower) has some amazing vocal chops if you're into rock & roll with a punk edge. Like I said, not a lot of options, but some good ones if you're looking for live music this Monday night.
