A shot of fireworks from the show in the waters off Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
It's Independence Day, which means that many of you will be spending the day with friends and family, and showing off your grilling prowess, but after the smoke from the fireworks clear the skies, there's still some fun to be had around town. Eleven seems to be the only spot with a full music lineup, and some of the usual venues are closed for the holiday, but if you haven't solidified your plans for the afternoon, I'd highly suggest heading down to Old Town for the Euphoria Brass Band to put you in a festive mood with their unique blend of brass and percussion that will make you feel like you're down in Dixie. Of course, if you want to join the masses for the final day of the San Diego County Fair, Weird Al will headline the Grandstand Stage before a fireworks show, and some of the usual Wednesday suspects will still be at their spots around town. I'd say you should find a neighborhood watering hole within walking distance from your house and pretend that you don't have to work on Thursday. If you're lucky, you don't.
