Sounds Like San Diego: July 31

It isn't very often that I find myself dancing along to pop music, but when I got an email from Hoodie Allen, that's exactly what happened when I heard his record. You're instantly pulled in by the first track, "Song for an Actress," which samples Fitz & the Tantrums. Hoodie Allen created this record after leaving a job with Google, and it's heavy in jokes and playful fun. He flows effortlessly through his lyrics, and after a while you wish you were having a poolside mai tai well rocking these fun summertime jams. Catch him live tonight at the Epicentre.
