Sounds Like San Diego: July 29

Say Anything capture the crowd at House of Blues on Wednesday

It's the middle of the week, which means it's either finally time to get serious about the work week after last weekend has worn off or time to coast into the weekend because you've been so focused. I prefer the latter and with that, and Wednesday offers up the second night of Melt Banana at the Casbah, or you catch up with the quirky Rasputina at Soda Bar. Black Sabbath gets the "under cover" treatment by local musicians at the Office, and Steve Miller Band chills out at Humphrey's. If you're looking for an under-the-radar show, swing by the House of Blues' Voodoo Room for the Hunts, a Virginia group made up of seven siblings, reminiscent of the Lumineers. Of course, at the same place in the big room, Say Anything returns to House of Blues -- and with Modern Baseball, Casbah favorite Cymbals Eat Guitars and Hard Girls, this is going to be the rock show of the night.
