Sounds Like San Diego: July 28

Au Revoir Simone headline the Casbah Monday night

If your week was anything like mine, it's hard to imagine going out tonight, but if you do, you'll certainly be pleased with the options. Thee Oh Sees return to San Diego, this time with a show at the Belly Up, which isn't exactly a small show -- but their star is rising, so catch them while you can at a moderately intimate venue. Of course, Josh Damigo is back at House of Blues with his band, and Tin Can has their end of the month showcase. The Office returns with their Under Cover series, where your favorite San Diego musicians perform unique covers of a band -- in tonight's case, the Rolling Stones. Then of course, there's Moonshine at Soda Bar, and I suppose like reggae bands using "vibes" or "irie" in their names, any band with a whiskey or moonshine reference is spelling out exactly what to expect from their show. Still, I'm partial to Au Revoir Simone at the Casbah. These lovely ladies broke out on the scene in the early '00s, and ushered in a new wave of indie dreampop. A decade later, they're back to prove why they earned so much buzz.. Definitely more choices than usual on a Monday, so explore your city and enjoy some great live music.
