It was almost one year ago that Ben Sollee performed at Four Day Weekend, a Sezio-hosted event that paired touring acts with locals for four consecutive nights -- and made a fan out of me. To just call Sollee a cellist and vocalist is an understatement. While he pulls elements of bluegrass, folk and rock, he has definitely broken down any genre-confining limits with his unique percussive style of playing. He has been known to tour on his bicycle to limit his own carbon footprint, and after speaking with him, you get the impreession that he enjoys touring as much for the opportunity to perform his music as for the opportunity to connect and talk to the people in the crowd.
