Music venues in San Diego have come and gone. One of my new favorites is the Irenic. By day, the campus is home to the Mission Gathering and on special nights throughout the year, the venue doubles as a concert venue. It offers the perfect size for all ages shows where others are too big or too small. Bands like Frightened Rabbit, People Under the Stairs, and the Rapture have performed there. The sound is well dialed-in everytime and has a comfortable room to stand with its carpeted and slightly sloped floor. On Tuesday, check out the curious pairing of Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson as performing as the Uncluded on their "Hokey Fright" tour.
