Sounds Like San Diego: July 16

There is no way I can pretend to be unbiased. From the first time I saw The Heavy Guilt perform live, I've been a fan. I was blown away by Erik Canzona's vocals, I was intrigued by Alfred Howard's percussion, and I loved the tweaks in Sean Martin's face as he really dug into his guitar. Every song taught me something about the massive dynamics of this band and while I can delve into my efforts as a fan-girl to know all six members of the band, I will keep it simple and tell you that there is nowhere else to spend your Saturday evening except Glashaus. In The Blood, though only being released to the public today, has already been nominated in the Best Alternative Rock Album category for this year's San Diego Music Awards and is quite deserving. I would love to say this is one of our best local bands, but I'd rather believe that The Heavy Guilt is the next breakout band from San Diego that is just simply one of the better bands currently making music anywhere.
