Sometimes I judge musicians by the company they keep. As if it weren't enough that Audra Mae is signed to SideOneDummy, I've seen her share the stage with musicians like Chris Shiflett, Good Old War and Yukon Blonde -- all great performers -- and she was well suited to play among them. She's got a great combination of country spunk and punk, and though she looks sweet, you get the impression you don't want to do her wrong. Similarly, I've seen Cory Branan perform and even bumped into him in Texas where he was hanging with Robert Francis and chatting with John C. Reilly and James Mercer. Yes, you can be judged by the company you keep and I'll say these two at the Casbah will be well worth your time.
