It's been commented on a bazillion times that some very influential and legendary artists were lost in 2016, but one that cut especially deep was the loss of Ms. Sharon Jones, who was scheduled to perform at the Casbah on Jan. 1-2. Tonight, consider the Soul Search Council a bit of a tribute to her, as your favorite local selectors spin the soul they love. Lady Dottie & the Diamonds will play in the Atari Room and it will be one heck of a good time. In the meantime, TV Girl comes back to town with a show at Soda Bar, Pato Banton is at Belly Up, and the SpringBoard West Music Festival continues at Music Box (read the SoundDiego preview here), with longer music showcases starting from the afternoon all the way until headliner Warren G (who will presumably have a full set).
